Robert Clerc
Robert Clerc was born in Switzerland in 1948. He served his apprenticeship in Geneva Switzerland.
1975He commenced business in the Strand Arcade in Sydney Australia. He won the Australian Jewellery Design Award the same year.
1978Robert won the Australian Jewellers’ Association Design Award for Mens Jewellery. He was commissioned by Georges Australia Limited of Melbourne to design & produce a piece of jewellery to commemorate their Centenary.
1979He won the De Beers Supreme Diamond Design Award.
Commissioned to design & construct the Charles Davies memorial trophy for the Sydney to Hobart yacht race. The sterling silver yacht stands one metre high…
1987Robert was commissioned by the Australian Bicentennial Authority to design & construct the tall ships race trophy in sterling silver.
1998Robert studied sculpture to extend his knowledge of form & movement.
2003Robert received his first private commission for a large scale piece of sculpture. His sculpture is now in private collections in America, Switzerland, Germany and New Zealand.
The first public installation of Robert’s sculpture is situated in the grounds of Kambala girls school in Rose Bay, NSW Australia.
2010Brisbane Girls Grammar school commissioned Robert to design & produce a sculpture for their grounds. The stainless steel panel ‘reflection’ is a compliment to their award winning architecture.
2011Robert designed the Spun Sphere Collection & produced his first collection of Mini Sculptures. Robert Clerc works on the premises of his gallery in Woollahra, in Australia.
